What we do

KYTHE deliver a range of youth work activities including drop in sessions, after school and lunchtimes sessions, youth clubs, holiday time activities, and more.

Here, at KYTHE we are passionate about partnerships and see real value in a community working together for the good of the community.

With this in mind, KYTHE works alongside organisations such as:

  • Local Churches (including Kinross-shire Parish Churches, Dunbarney Parish Church and St James RC Church)
  • Local Schools (Kinross High School, Kinross Primary School, Milnathort Primary School, Portmoak Primary School and Fossoway Primary School)
  • Local Government Bodies such as Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and more.

With KYTHE delivering the Universal youth work in Kinross-Shire, we are joined by Logos Youth Project (covering Strathearn and Strathallan), Strathmore Centre for Youth Development (SCYD), Alyth Youth Partnership (AYP) and Coupar Angus Youth Action Group (CAYAG) (Eastern Perthshire Youth Alliance), Breathe (Highland and Strathtay) and YMCA Tayside (Perth City).

Universal Youth Work

In April 2019, KYTHE joined the unique collaboration between the Gannochy Trust and Perth and Kinross Council, aimed at bucking the funding trend and harnessing the value of youth work.   Through the development of a dynamic youth work funding partnership, youth agencies across Perth and Kinross will be supported to deliver effective youth work.  This provision will engage young people in communities, inspiring and supporting them to realise their potential and address life’s challenges.

“Youth work can be targeted or universal. Targeted youth work involves focussed and tailored interventions aimed at specific groups of young people to bring about often pre-agreed outcomes. Universal youth work can be defined as open access with an open purpose and curriculum however in reality universal youth work can also often have a specific focus responding to young people and community needs.” – Youthlink Scotland.
